In conjunction with New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), HKNZBA co-hosted an information session on the 23rd of October about the NZ Secure Exports Scheme (SES) and information on the Hong Kong – Macau – Zhuhai bridge that was opened on the 24th of October 2018.
There were a panel of speakers who presented at the information session and they include:
- Greg Smith, Chief Customs Officer, Secure Exports Scheme NZ Customs Service
- Rachael McGuckian, Trade Commissioner, Hong Kong – New Zealand Trade & Enterprise
- Mark Russell, President – Hong Kong New Zealand Business Association
- Bonnie Shek, Director Australia/New Zealand – Hong Kong Trade Development Council
The seminar included: – An overview of the Secure Exports Scheme, the benefits for exporters and the countries it applies to (including China – and soon, Hong Kong) – Tips on how to apply for the SES, and the assistance that Customs can provide to help exporters in the application process.
Bonnie from HKTDC also provided an informative update on the Greater Bay area and the potential opportunities the area and the opening of the new bridge presents for businesses.
