In continuation of the Hong Kong Festival, we had Andrew Leung and Dr Stephen Noakes speak to guests about China’s position today. Dr Stephen Noakes, from the University of Auckland’s Political Science Department, spoke about the challenges Hong Kong faces as China moves towards establishing closer ties with this region. Andrew Leung spoke about the Chinese ‘economic miracle’ and the implications of this on a regional and global scale. The seminar was followed by drinks and canapés for attendees.
