On Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 June, we had Rod MacKenzie speak to guests about NZ Focus’ journey. Mr MacKenzie is the Executive Director of NZ Focus; he had previously worked for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise for over a decade, and in particular he held the post of China Regional Director for a number of years.
Mr MacKenzie gave deep insight into NZ Focus’ ventures, the challenges it faced and how it overcame them, and significantly, its use of Hong Kong as a springboard in its expansion into China. Mr MacKenzie also outlined NZ Focus’ current operations in China, in particular its use of business-to-consumer online retail, which guests found very interesting.
The seminar in Auckland was followed by drinks and canapés for attendees; and in Wellington it was conducted throughout a two-course lunch. Thank you very much to the Langham Auckland, and the Wellington Club, for hosting these events.
